This job definitely involved more of a sensory approach to work because I was always working with measurements, concrete calculation and numbers, and had to be very precise when completing a project. This work also required me to complete jobs with a certain type of process or routine. My current job also requires a sensory approach at times. I am supposed to help a student work through problems, or simply degree planning, in a very methodical way. I also have to approach my daily workload in a way that often prioritizes raw numbers and quantity of work over creativity or quality of work.…

Ever since I was little I have had an obsession with fixing things and figuring out how clocks, VCR’s, game stations, and other electronics work. This job fulfilled my obsession by letting me demolish drywall, cut and hang molding, install bathtubs, and rewire houses. It also allowed me to work around my crazy schedule. I was in highschool when I occupied this job so it was difficult timing my schedule with studying as well as with my extra curricular activities. My dad being the business manager made it easier to work around my schedule.…

I would help the mechanics in doing their job, and as my skills developed, I came to understand the role of the engineer - to design intricate and reliable machinery. I wanted to be a part of that creativity. It may seem simplistic, but as a child, I spent much of my free-time creating many projects with my Lego set. It was my favorite toy. Later I began repairing small machinery, often disassembling the pieces to see how it works.…

From when I was a little kid to now I have always loved to build things. I was always right there by my dad when he was doing something on our house, and I feel like that can be a huge advantage for me. A lot of people go into this profession with little to no experience, and I feel that my dad has taught me enough for me to do well in an apprenticeship or even on my own. Not only do I like building things, but I am also good at it. Here recently, because of the flood, I asked my dad if I could build my brother and I’s beds.…

Another interesting part of the empire is that everyone was required to do at least some work if they were able. On certain days each year, the lords in the province would go to his land to plow, cultivate crops, or do whatever work was needed. It was not really necessary for them to as they had workers and servants and could have simply lived off their work. This allowed the rulers to lead by example and their followers were willing to work harder for them. Because all able bodied people worked hard, the sick and injured could have enough supplies from the storehouses to be able to survive (Internet History Sourcebooks).…

I know I have my own tasks to do, but I know that the other person does too. Sometime the job that the other person is doing is hard and I know it is because I have done it before and knowing that two people working together will make it easier, then I am willing to help. Another weakness I have is that I am very critical of my work. I am the kind of person that works for perfection and pays very close attention to the little details about everything. I am not the kind of person who is always super organized, but when I am building something or working on a project, I pay attention to details and make sure the it is the way I visioned it.…
