Why Do I Deserve This Scholarship?

Decent Essays
Why do I deserve this scholarship? This question is hard to answer because what defines deserving? If deserving means being an active participant in school, receiving good grades, and participating in extracurriculars, then yes by standard definition I am deserving. However, deserving this scholarship should not solely be based on what you do but rather what else you can bring to the school. I personally believe that I can bring my faith driven, academic skills I have cultivated from my 9 years at St. Catherine’s. I also can provide the athletics program with my basketball skills I have been honing.

My goal throughout my whole childhood was to receive a full ride scholarship to the college of my dreams; however, as time has gone on and I have matured I have come to the realization that, that dream is not as achievable as I once believed it to be. Which ultimately means I am still responsible for paying for my books, room and board, part of the tuition cost, and mandatory fees.…
