Why Do Food Companies Use Pesticides Affect The Human Body?

In order to make food more affordable and feed a growing population, food companies add harmful chemicals and hormones to speed growth and increase production. This is a an epidemic because everybody is exposed to different kinds of chemicals and food chemicals are the most common. Due to increase in cost for maintaining our food healthy, adding chemicals and hormones drops the price, but has negative affects to the human body internally when consumed. Many different chemicals are added into the food we consume or sprayed on our fruits and vegetables.In an article published by CNN, it lists different types of preservatives and dyes in our food such as tartrazine, propyl gallate, sodium nitrate, and TBHQ (Wilson,Christensen,par.1). The problem with pesticides is that everybody is exposed to it. Everybody eats fruits and vegetables, therefore, us humans consume the pesticides fruit or vegetable along with the pesticide. When pesticides are sprayed, they also pollute and contaminate the air which can contaminate ground soil, surface water, and the atmosphere (Why Organic par.4). Not only are us humans consuming pesticides internally, but the people are exposed to it externally, as we can breathe it in or make contact with our skin. The human body is greatly affected to the exposure of toxic pesticides and chemicals in the food we consume.As seen throughout these examples, the effects of constant exposure to toxic chemicals,like many different cancers and allergic diseases, can be clearly seen and should shake the perspective of what humans are putting in their bodies.
