Why Do Colors Absorb Light

Heat has been a problem to mankind for millions of years. It has caused heat strokes, heat rash, and dehydration. A way to obstruct this problem is color. Different colors absorb heat worse or better.
The reason colors absorb light is because when color absorbs light, it turns it to thermal energy.
If a color absorbs lots of energy, It makes lots of thermal energy (Morton, J. L. "Color and Heat Absorption"). Scientists believe that darker colors absorb better, and lighter absorb worse (Morton, J. L. "Color and Heat Absorption").

When heat enters an object, visible or invisible, it warms it to produce thermal energy. This process is called “Heat Absorption” (Heat Absorption." KidsGeo.com. Web). If an object is exposed to heat for a long time, it will absorb more energy. Darker colors absorb better. The reason they do this is because they appear darkest in the Light

White light has the greatest temperature. Blue light is colder or cooler, but doesn’t absorb as much energy as the colors of red or green. Red absorbs the most light, but is hotter. Black is not in the visible spectrum of light and it absorbs all colors of light. Different colors absorb better or worse and have the most temperature ("Color Absorption and Reflection: Light into Heat Energy." Uzinggo. Web.).

When a light wave is with an electron with the same frequency, it will be put in a vibrating motion. When any atoms are nearby when this motion is present, they will be turned to thermal energy (Henderson, Tom). After the motion, the light was absorbed, so it cannot become a form of light again. Because atoms and molecules contain electrons, they can be absorbed by an object. Absorption of light can only happen when light strikes a material or object. The transfer creates heat but normally it would not create lots of it. When it is in absorption, the light cannot be reflected
