There’s been many different theories as to how and why it was destroyed. The enigmatic underwater city, more commonly known as Atlantis, continues to peak the curiosity of many. Many believers have gone out and explored different places since there seems to be many plausible locations of Atlantis. The history of Atlantis was very well recorded. The way it was described, so clearly and precisely, makes it seem that Atlantis existed at one point. Plato, a very well known greek philosopher,

The evidence found was then research to prove that it came from the lost city of Atlantis. In 1953, a German archaeologist, Dr. Jurgen Spanuth, explored the North Sea because he thought that Plato had mistaken the location of Atlantis. The team dove into the water and minutes later, someone said that they see a wall that was encircling a large oval area that was 1,012 yards long and 328 yards wide. Inside the walls were large sand piles thought to be the ruins of Atlantis (David 26). The fact that it was a wall that was encircling an oval area makes it seem like it was a part of Atlantis since Atlantis was a circular city. Starting the late 1950’s, Edgar Cayce stated that the Bimini Road would be the place to find evidence of Atlantis. For many years, there were countless of expedition. In 1957, someone found a vertical column rising from the seafloor, several stone slabs, and a gear-like structure (Little 1). The city of Atlantis was described to have multiple large vertical columns across the city. The vertical columns found could possibly be a part of Atlantis. In 1996, Doug Richards and Joan Hanley found a host of rectangular and anomalous features in deeper waters (Little 1). These rectangular anomalies could have been the homes or other buildings. Another expedition took the explorers to Spain. A multi-ringed city, was discovered. (“Archaeologists Claim They've Discovered Atlantis in Southern Spain Atlantis” 1). Atlantis was also a multi ringed city. An explorer, Robert Sarmast, studied images that supposedly showed the remains of submerged canals and walls that matched Plato's description (Mikolos 26-27). The evidence that were found and researched were in different places. Some believe that Plato had gotten and written the location wrong. This is the main reason why the location of Atlantis is still in
