Imagine you are a hardworking doctor or lawyer, and you aren't getting paid the amount you should be. Other people like you who are bettering our community aren't getting paid the amount they should be, and all of your tax money is going towards paying for athletic stadiums. Doctors, teachers, government employees, police officers, firefighters, and lawyers should be receiving the money that athletes receive. Professional athletes provide entertainment for society, but I believe they receive an unreasonable salary. Overall, athletes are overpaid because all they are doing is playing a game to entertain while other more important professions are making much less, they don't contribute to society, there are better places to use the money, and the money received could be used to pay for more useful causes that would benefit our society.…

Why are these athletes not getting paid for all those victories that made the college millions and athletes cannot have a little portion of that money. The colleges are using all of these all the athletes as money makers for that institute because there are no values for performance all the college is to make money selling everything for money or advertising. I've always wondered why entertainers and athletes get paid more than doctors, lawyers, military personnel, etc. I disagree, I think that people who actually make an impact on our country should get a higher salary than people who just entertain us. I think it is unfair for military personnel and doctors to get paid only 30 to 60 thousand a year while actors and actresses get paid 300 thousand a year. I will explain a bit more in the next few paragraphs. The first reason I disagree is because the people that keep us safe and make sure we are healthy are paid very little while actors, singers, etc get a bigger annual salary just to act in a movie or sing one song.…

“People complain that professional athletes get paid too much, but what they don’t understand is that we need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money,” is a quote from Patrick Ewing, a famous NBA star.
