In the past 36 years there has been over 1.4 billion abortions worldwide. That would be like killing more than the entire population of China. These babies will never see the light of day because of someone else's carelessness. They will never grow up, get a job, get married, start their own family, all because of someone else’s mistakes. No one should have the right to take someone’s life away. Abortion should be illegal, not only in the U.S but everywhere. As a woman gets an abortion, the baby knows what’s happening. Therefore the baby will try to avoid the abortion by attempting to move away from the cannula (the tube that dismembers the baby into pieces), this however does not work. As a matter of fact, “There are alternatives to abortion for women who do not wish to have a child, …”(What Extent Should). One of theses choices is the practice of abstinence. This is a one-hundred percent chance that an unwanted pregnancy will not occur. On a moral note, neither the man or the woman will be faced with effects of a sexually active relationship that is happening at a time when both parties are not equipped to deal with. “Abstinence is the only completely effective method of preventing pregnancy. Teaching teens about birth control sends them the message that it is acceptable to have sex, which ultimately makes it more likely they will have unsafe sex. Abstinence builds character in teens, who are unprepared for the psychological and emotional effects of having sex at a young age.”(Abstinence-only Education). In addition, if this type of education available to all young teens, maybe they would feel as if they had more options. At this time, abstinence teaching is not being taught as a primary tool to prevent pregnancy. Most are preoccupied with the concepts of safe sex. These are not full proof and can lead women to make decisions that can affect the rest of their
