Many people have different opinions as to when and why the Roman Empire fell. One opinion is that the Emperor’s during the Pax Romana were the true cause of Rome’s downfall. Many of the Emperor’s during that time were mentally insane, causing them to make laws that did not help the empire. In fact, they help cause an unstable empire. Specifically, the reigns of Caligula, the Army Emperor’s, and Trajan, caused major instability to the empire. As the third Emperor of Rome, Caligula set a terrible path for the Emperor’s following him. Funds in Rome were disappearing by the minute, as Caligula spent money on building projects.
