In 1896 the Klondike gold rush began. There was George Carmack, Kate Carmack, Skookum Jim and Dawson Charlie. Those are some of the people in the gold rush. But there was 100,000 people that went out to the gold rush. It was very harsh in the gold rush. Like the cold was a big problem. And the mud in the gold rush was a problem. Only 4,000 people found gold out of the 100,000 thousand people. Only 30,000 people made it. How sad is that. So the rush ended in the summer of 1899. George Washington Carmack was the one to discover it. All together the people made about 3,000,000 dollars.
