The reason for this wall is to contain the people who resisted the government. Syria just got out of a civil war and not everyone was happy with the outcome. Before these people were threats to not only the government, but also some citizens, because of their violence. Now that the wall has been built these people are safely contained and the military controls who moves in and out of the area.
This wall impacts their social aspects greatly. People inside of the wall are stuck there. Also many citizens outside of the wall aren’t happy with this wall thinking it is cruel. Family members also have a hard time visiting, because of the heavy security guarding the neighborhood.
The economical impact of this wall is something to take into consideration also. This wall is expensive and must be guarded by paid guards. Also it gives people inside the wall a periphery life. Unlike most of Syria these people will be on the streets. These people no longer have opportunities for jobs outside of their walls.
Syria’s military has taken a negative impact as well. Because troops have to come heavily guard a wall in the middle of the city. When they do this Syria doesn’t have as much troops protecting the border. This makes Syria’s border weaker and being in the Middle East definitely doesn’t help the
