In 1749 the French and British both claimed parts of the Ohio Valley. Both of them were building forts. The french had been building forts they built their forts to connect their lands in new France and Louisiana. They also were competing for food because they hunted. They also wanted the land for the trading specifically the fur trade industry. But as time went on the French gained more and more land, so in 1750 the French put a good number of forts in the eastern end of the Valley. When they did this the British thought this as an act of war, and decided to fight the French. This is a reason the French Indian war started.

The war ended because the British beat the French in the war. They defeated them by defeating each one of their allies. The British were thought to fall but the second to last battle they had in the French Indian war, turned the tide. The British killed a majority the allies of the French. This was a huge part of why Britain won the war and left France in the dust.
After the war ended it caused many troubles for the French. One trouble was that they lost a large amount of settlement in Ohio. Because the British won the war. The British took at least 5,000 acres away from the French in Ohio Valley. The French were devastated on losing their land. The results of the French losing land resulted in sorrow and loss of forts.
Another trouble they ran into was losing much of their land in Canada. The French-owned Canada with the British and Spain. Britten after the war had now backed the French out of Canada. Some stayed and held onto parts of Canada. The place that held the most French was the capital, that was also claimed by Britten, but some refused to leave. Spain owed only a small square.
