The Cold War affect American culture by influencing American recreational activities. The national security encouraged Hollywood filmmakers to make movies that were about anticommunism and they made movies like The red menace and they reserved from using dark American historical movements. The government made sure that the public only supported positive aspects of America. Also during the cold war, a lot of the art work were held from the public viewing because it portrayed American government as a communist government and because congress could not afford to pay them.
