July 4th is a holiday widely celebrated by the American people through cookouts, fireworks and camping. Although this date in 1776 was a clear turning point of our forefathers, the American Revolution started well before this Declaration of Independence. The colonists felt oppressed by the British empire and fought against many of the acts implemented to control the people leading up to the year 1776.
