When the settlers of the Jamestown first encountered the New World, they did not expect diseases to come along with their new settlement. The Native Americans had no idea who all these people were invading their land and they needed to either get them away from their territory or figure out if these people were a threat or not. The first attack on the colonist happened three days after the colonists’ arrival to Jamestown. The Native Americans finally worked some things out realizing that the colonists were not that much of a threat if they would stick to just that one area so the Native Americans would know exactly where they were. The colonists realized that they could use some of the Native agricultural, like corn, to survive and the Native Americans had other Native enemies, meaning that since the colonists had weapons, it would have been the best idea to make acquaintances with the colonists in case something with their enemies broke out.
