A few reasons that show that she failed are, first of all Catholics believed that the priest was the supreme head of the church, therefore he should be the only one able to read the bible. For this to happen the bible was Latin .Unfortunately for Mary, when her Brother Edward and Father Henry were kings they allowed the bible to be translated into English furthermore they did not need the priests and did not value them as much. However, when Henry became king and introduce Protestantism, it was no longer compulsory for Priests to wear such elaborate clothing and they could now get married. This proved a problem to Mary because she had to ban priests from marrying and make the wear the elaborate clothing that they used to wear before Henry became king. This was the exact same thing that happened with the decoration of the church. There used to be alters, stained glass windows, rood screens, a crucifix and images of all the saints but they were replaced with much simpler items.
