Like every war people needed weapons so they were reminded of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Hmmm, they thought “what type of weapons should we use” then they remembered the destruction, power of the atomic bomb. That is how the United States and the Soviet Union started to go into nuclear battles, creating more and more nuclear weapons. As the war continued more and more new nuclear weapons were being made like the hydrogen bomb and the super bomb. The urge of being able to have such powerful weapons made governments send troops into war to gain more and protect the nuclear weapons they have. Caused the death of around 7 million people(Joshua Goldstein), it was said that each year of the Cold War there were around 180,000 deaths. That adds on to the 55.3 million people who die per year for any cause, and all this death came because we decided that peace was not an option. This form of new warfare continued to spread to other nations and countries that were at war, giving birth to new, greater and more destructive weapons. There have been approximately 125,000 nuclear warheads (Merchant)that have been built since the bombing of hiroshima some of them have been destroyed, taken apart or used on
