Why did I choose Idaho State Univeristy?

My academic journey at Idaho State University has consisted of great vicissitudes mentally and emotionally. The time I have spent at ISU has allowed me to develop as a professional, grow as an individual and discover my talents as an academic. So the answer to the question, ‘why did I choose Idaho State University?’ is a simple one, but comes with a lengthy and vigorous journey. I fell in love with ISU and everything it has to offer on a professional and individual level. (keep?)
I first toured Idaho State during my junior year of high school, and I did not experience the typical ‘this is the university for me’ epiphany. I thought there was too many brown brick buildings, the rushing college students

I stayed at Idaho State because the faculty and staff that work here are absolutely phenomenal. Every single professor I have had has taken a genuine interest in my education and has gone out of their way to ensure I am successful. Not only are the professors dedicated to my personal education, but they provide prestigious knowledge to their students. I have had professors who have trained Olympians, traveled across the globe to share their expertise and helped draft laws to better the state of Idaho. How many universities with 15,000 students can say the same about their faculty and staff? I stayed at Idaho State because the quality of education you receive for the amount of money you pay is outstanding. I know students at various universities paying upwards of six-figures for their undergraduate education. I know students that will be swimming in college debt long after they graduate. The price for a post-secondary education anywhere is expensive, but the high quality education you receive at ISU for its minimal cost, is unmatched compared to any other university. Lastly, I stayed at Idaho State University because I fell in love with my program, with my professors, with my fellow students and all of the outstanding opportunities ISU has provided for me in the short time I have been …show more content…
I am so thankful I was able to reassure myself and my decision to become a Bengal. I began my education at ISU in the Fall of 2014 as a Freshman and I am now a Junior, the Vice President of S.H.E.P.E.R.D. Club and an Academic Coach Emissary. I have a 3.96 GPA and plan to graduate early in the Fall of 2017, and continue my education into graduate school. I firmly believe that I would not have grown this immensely without the assistance I have received from Idaho State. I owe all of my college success to this institution and I take such pride in ISU. I hope that other students never doubt their decision to become a Bengal, and can reminisce someday about why they chose to stay at Idaho State

Throughout the course of my short seventeen years, I have grown and learned many things. I grew up in a small rural town called Elk Creek. There are no strangers in Elk Creek; people sleep with their doors unlocked and their windows open. Everyone who has grown up in a small town can agree that friendship and community become a second nature trait. Although I have copious amounts of love and respect for where I grew up; I believe that I do not belong there.…

What I like best about ULM is how nice the campus is and all that is has to offer while still having the feeling of a small school. Most of the colleges with really nice campuses are huge schools and they are not as easy to navigate as the ULM campus. The other campuses I have been on do not have the same comfortable environment as the ULM campus…

It feels as if any freshman can come onto this campus, and adapt themselves within the first few minutes of being here. I would first like to thank Frostburg State University for accepting me in their institution and giving me the chance to further my education after my high school scholar years. I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career. As a small university, Frostburg has enabled me to benefit from many things, such as the small size classes. Now that I have gotten used to college and life on campus, I believe it is time to continue to push myself to work harder and to attend an institution where I could be academically challenged and can be surrounded by many people who share my profession.…

Because of my love for the state of Idaho, my personal values, and my desire to obtain an education without going into debt, I will be attending Brigham Young University- Idaho in the fall. This institution is situated in a beautiful place in Idaho; central to skiing, climbing, and hiking which is the best, most hands-on way to experience the state. When I envision my life, I see it being rooted in Idaho. Though I may live somewhere else for a few years or travel, I cannot imagine what life would be like in a place where tourism does not involve potatoes and white water rapids. I want to contribute to this state, just like all of the fabulous people I know who have helped me grow into someone I can be proud of.…
