Why Did 9/11 Happen

Who could have been responsible for the deaths of over 2,000 innocent citizens and left over 6,000 wounded in New York City? On Tuesday September 11, 2001 it started the same as any other day for many workers. People said goodbye to their loved ones, but no one could have guessed this may have been the last time they ever saw them. Attacks by islamic terrorists have been happening globally for years, but 9/11 was one that had a lasting impact. “I was standing in the hallway outside my office talking to a coworker, when I heard a tremendous explosion at 8:46am I looked into my office and saw a gaping hole” (Weinberg, Jonathan). We are flying low. We are flying very, very low. We are flying way too low. Oh my god! Those were the last words from American Flight ll before it crashed into the north tower” (Sherwell, Philip) Many voice recording from these flights had been recorded. Not only can you hear the victims. But also the terrorization by the islam9ic group who was responsible for 9/11. Not only did they instill workers, and those boarding planes with terror but also those near the world trade center. During the collapse citizens, and police man ran for cover, many were left covered in dust. Those on the street also had to experience the sickening sight of those who had no other choice but to sacrifice their lives. “I saw two people hold hands and jump together. That made me sick,” my dad remembered. As the crowd watched in horror, my father remembers, they would moan each time another person jumped. Each time, someone would scream. USA Today estimated that at least 200 people jumped that day.” ( Pandolfo, Chris). Not only did they take the lives of thousands of innocent people, but they all sacrificed their own lives.
