I think the video, A Fair(y) Use Tale, is fair use and that Eric Faden is not infringing anything from Disney. The videos purpose was to teach others about fair use, using disney clips, and in the law of fair use it states that you can use it for criticism, parody, news reporting, and teaching. Which this video is following for education purposes. Although he is using clips from different disney movies and such, the clips are not too long to be considered copyright infringement. And he didn't use enough clips for it to be copying too.…

I think it raised a good question but did not support the argument with enough facts therefore I was not persuaded. I would have discussed the medium where this battle is being waged more, YouTube, and how it works. Present the side of the copyright holder and how they feel their property is being used for the gain of another. Then point by point take apart the copyright holders argument, using the dancing baby as a example. Finally ending with the videos of happy dancers and the argument it is just people doing what they have always done just in 21st century…

Professor Faden did not steal a full work from Disney, it was only a small amount of it and was used for educational purposes. So, Faden can use Fair Use as a defense against Disney, just because Disney has more lawyers doesn’t mean they can win every case. Also. Faden used the work respectfully, it was created to show the Copyright laws telling people everything they shouldn’t do so they don’t get in trouble. I think without this video, there would be a lot more people using too much of people’s work because they don’t know how Copyright works.…

A copyright protects the expression of an idea, not the idea itself. For a work to be copyright able it has to be original to the author and it has to be fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Copyrights also protect original expression of authorship. Now Trademark law protects business names, logos, catch phrases that some companies use to identify their products. The law wants those marks to be easily recognizable to the consumer so when she goes to buy a pair of sneakers she knows that the sneakers with the three stripes come from one company and the sneakers with the swoosh come from another company.…

He provided an example which was about a mother posted her 13-month-old son dancing video with Prince’s music playing on the background on YouTube.…

When I was eight years old, I was given an assignment to write a report about monkeys. For an eight year old in 1965, research consisted of pulling the M volume of the Encyclopedia Britannica from the living room bookshelf. I was so proud that I could reach this volume and began vigorously writing my paper. I copied all the information I could from the pages about monkeys and even cut out some photos of the Gibbons to spruce up my one page paper. My mother came into the kitchen and saw me sitting there with the scissors and Elmer’s Glue.…

When I go to the movie theater to watch a movie, I can’t help but to fall in love with all the incredible scenarios that are shown. Something advantageous to the movies is that, it takes less time than reading a book; movies are basically short-ways. Reading can be hard for some people, inpatient people can’t deal with the long suspense that books have, there’s also slow-readers, reading a book make take way longer in their cases. It’s only natural that they will choose to watch a movie instead of finishing or even starting to read a book. Still, movies are visually pleasing, the main points get covered rapidly, and it’s unlikeable that a movie will last more than two hours, plus, the movie industry is constantly making new films, at least one’s a week there’s a new movie available.…
