Why Columbus Arrived South America

Decent Essays
Map is an important thing in our daily life today. We can not only using maps to figure out where the place is, but also just like the professor said in the video “it’s an amazing way to figuring out the history” . I do agree this statement because before Ferdinand Magellan circumnavigated the world, people do not realize that Earth is a ball not flat. When people read the map, then they can learn the history of the “Age of Discovery” in the 16th cemetery.
Maps may be very different at the different time. Just like the video said, the reason why Christopher Columbus arrived South America but not Asian countries is because of the map. He wanted to cross the Pacific Ocean and reach Asia, but the information at that time was not clear at all.

His choices and treatment influenced how other would later view and deal with the Indians, eventually leading to their near extinction.
