Why College Students Need Substance Abuse?

I fully believe in the substance abuse police that McPherson College enforces. I think that college students as well as everyone else has enough to deal with and stress over without adding drugs and other illegal substances to that list. It will only make what that person is dealing with worse. There are several reasons why the college’s students might want to use illegal substances, it could be for physical or emotional reasons. No matter the reason I think that the policy should be enforced, that way students can lead a safer, healthier, and higher quality of life. Substance abuse doesn’t just hurt the person abusing the drug it can hurt the people around them as well. According to HealthyPeople.gov, substance abuse can contribute immensely to: teenage pregnancy, HIV, AID’s, STD’s, motor vehicle crashes, assaults, crime, homicide, and suicide. All of these can are horrific events and could do serious damage to someone’s life. There is also the chance of overdose which could quickly end someone’s life. It could be used to enhance a person physically by giving them extra energy to gain muscle or to even to lose weight. Some people use drugs and alcohol as an emotional “pick me up” or stress reliever. This can do serious damage to the body over time.
