Everyone at some point in time is introduced to the idea of college. College is a very unique experience. It can be very enjoyable and educational or it can be dreadful and do nothing but stress you out. The importance of college is one of the biggest debates in the world. Most people have one of two views. One view states that college is important and is the essential factor to a successful life, while on the other hand, some say it is just a waste of time and there is no point in attending. According to Zakaria "college gives you knowledge, and knowledge gives you power." Zakaria also strongly believes in a Liberal Education. He feels it will broaden your knowledge and supply you with important life skills. Even though a Liberal education may not be for everyone Zakaria is definitely on to something when he talks about school giving you more knowledge and life skills. Attending college helps develop interposal skills which employers look at when hiring employees. Other pros of college are there is higher employment rates, healthier and longer life span, and bigger salaries. Everyone complains that college is to much money and that it will take years to pay off your debt, but honestly there is so many opportunities to avoid a lot of debt.There is financial aid (FASFA), academic and sports scholarships, and you can even have a job on campus that will pay for some of your tuition.
