In today’s society, getting a college education is seen as important. It is often expected of people to go on to college after they have completed high school. People who have obtained a college degree are also respected more by their peers. However, society’s views on those who go to college is not what makes college important. College is time consuming and stressful. It also cost a lot of money, so it is easy for people to decide that it is not worth it to continue their education. What this means is that a person with a college education can have many more choices and opportunities. College opens doors for people to be able to decide which field they want to study. They are not limited to just certain industries or careers. While in college it is easy for people to decide which is the best career path for them.
