Do you think college is as expensive as you think? Being in college is an amazing, yet so costly experience. It takes dedication and hard work to be able to focus on school, and the costs of everything. Many people expect college to be not so expensive when with financial aid, the purchase of materials, and having the help from your parents or partner is not difficult throughout the semesters, but eventually reality comes and changes their views.
Future students do not expect college to be so expensive since they are able to receive financial aid and be able to pay for everything, including books for their classes. Not many students receive funds and end up paying everything out of pocket, including all the classes and the extra materials. They do not consider that there are more materials to think about like calculators for any Algebra classes, lab coats, scantrons for quizzes and exams, parking permits, and access codes for online assignments. Sometimes, even a laptop is necessary since public libraries close early, and students will have to finish assignments possibly overnight. The total of all of the materials can result to being from eight-hundred dollars up to one thousand. There are some used books that people sell, but it will be impossible to purchase them anywhere for a decent price. The majority of the students end up working to be able to purchase for school and personal expenses. Sometimes, the reality is that students’ parents or partners have bills to pay themselves that it is impossible to be able to help for school expenses. Students end up looking for a part-time job to be able to pay for gas, bills, and school. Some work only on the weekends to be able to work on homework while others work on days that they do not have school. When graduating, some of the people will end up owing student loans because they did not have the money to complete the expenses. It is the reality that students have to face when attending college that it seems impossible to do, but worth it. College is costly in every aspect even if you are given the
