Who are you? Who do you want to be? What are you going to do? Do you ever find yourself staring blankly into the mirror asking yourself these questions? Do you have an answer for at least one of them? We as a society are faced with these piercing questions each day, when we walk out the door each person you come in contact with are judging and asking themselves the exact same questions. So what are the answers? Are there any right answers? Most importantly how do we find the answers to these questions? Some go on to college to find who they want to be, to learn who they are, and establish what they are going to do in life. Though college or higher education seems to an effective way to answer these questions many will be unable to attend

I personally come from a low income family so I know firsthand the struggles of paying for higher education. I graduated high school with a 4.8 GPA, graduating in the top 10 percentile of my class and even then I was hardly rewarded with scholarship money. I not only strived in my academics but also took part in several activities and clubs such as student government and NHS (National Honor Society). Later in my high school career I became a student athlete, participating in three varsity sports. I strived during my high school career like many other students to succeed and move on to gain higher education. I also like many of my peers will suffer from debt when I graduate college. It seems as if debt from student loans has become a norm in our society and not a good one if I must say. As I have lunches and dinners with some of my fellow peers and friends I have learned that I am not alone, something must change. We have seeked higher knowledge because not only is it extremely difficult to find a well-paying job without a degree but it is what we have been taught, after high school comes college. Unfortunately many young students will be unable to enjoy the luxuries of higher education and will struggle to answer questions like the ones earlier asked if these prices keep
