Why College Education Is Important To Me Essay

College is the key to success. To succeed in life, having a college education is extremely important. In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Bird, 2012).” Without an education you may not have much success in life. College education opens up many doors for people and it expands the human mind with knowledge. Going to college can provide students with the knowledge that can prepare them for the real world. All of my life I heard that I need to go to college in order to succeed in life. College education is important to me because jobs require a college degree, knowledge, and make a good salary. One reason why college education is important to me is because jobs require a college degree. Most jobs require candidates to at least have an associate’s degree. By 2018, 60% of job openings will require a college education (Amdur, 2013). Jobs will be cutting back on a lot of training and are expecting candidates to show up fully qualified (Amdur, 2013).
