Cholesterol, you probably hear about this term a lot. When you watch t.v. and they mention that Cheerios helps you lower cholesterol. Why would you want to though? How can high cholesterol affect us medically? Steroids are very helpful for people who are sick, if you have too much it can make you even sicker. I want to dig deeper into this and hopefully learn a thing or two! First off what even is cholesterol? Cholesterol is a thick, waxy, fat like substance found in cells. Cholesterol travels in your bloodstream in small packs called lipoproteins. Lipoproteins are made of lipid on the inside and proteins on the outside. Alright now that we are a little educated, why is it bad to have high cholesterol? Having high cholesterol increases the risk of having a heart attacks, strokes, and artery diseases. If you have an increase of cholesterol, it can start to build up and clog your arteries, which stops the blood from flowing to places in your body. When this happens, if you don’t have blood flowing to your head you are likely to have a stroke. …show more content…
Mainly steroids are used for inflammatory problems such as inflammation in the blood vessels and muscle inflammation. Small doses of steroids can help with pain and stiffness in your body. Anabolic steroids can help build muscle but athletes tend to abuse this. If there is too much of this in someone’s system, they will be out of balance which leads to some dangerous
