Argumentative Essay On Parent Children

Even though I have never been a parent, I realize how much of an uproar the argument about the correct way to parent children. Even though there is not a specific book or guide on how to raise the perfect child, a lot of people write publications to help out the parents who are unsure of how they would like to parent their children. Articles such as “Mother Inferior” and “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior” have two totally different views on the best way to parent. “Mother Inferior” believes in a more laid back and relaxed household environment is the best atmosphere to raise a child, whereas “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior” states that staying hard on the child and putting them in activities that will brighten their future is the superior state in which a child should be raised. Helicopter parenting as Don Aucion stated in the article “For Some, Helicopter Parenting Delivers Benefits” is a parenting method where the parent does everything for the child. Children who know that their parents mean business tend to do the right thing because they know the consequences of their actions. In the article “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior”, Amy Chua states “What Chinese parents understand is that nothing is fun until you’re good at it.” She believes that making sure your child is talented and making sure that your child is able to excel in certain aspects, makes that particular activity fun. John Edwards, the author of “Are U.S. Parents Too Soft”, wrote that being a strict parent doesn’t mean that the parent is not understanding, it just means that the parent encourages certain behaviors, but the parents still understand that protection is inevitable, but that the child should still strive to achieve
