Earlier, that Thursday before Friday’s game against the rival Carolville Hawks, the Tri-county Titans were sitting in their high school waiting to be dismissed by the bell so that they could go to a low-tempoed walk-through practice. This is all you. You should start to feel something in your stomach, some butterflies, use them and make something of yourselves. Theo stands up and screams “Let’s go kick some ass!”
The Titans run out of the locker room to the field. In unison, they burst through the paper banner, out onto the field jumping up and down. They all seem to be passionate and their nerves fade away. As both teams begin to stretch, the referee’s ask both teams for their captains to meet in the middle of the field. Theo and Eric jog to the Titans side line then walk, holding hand, to the middle of the field. Both teams look very official as if they are going into war, blue vs. green it seems. The two captains for Carolville were both short and stocky, yet they had an angry look on their face, etched in stone.

This inspired the Titans and gave them a reason to win. The second half was completely different everyone was fired and took the opening kickoff ninety yards to the end zone and put up the first points of the game. The rest of the game was perfect, the defense shut down the Hawks offense and the offense really started to roll. The final score was twenty seven to three. The Titans felt so alive and were so excited that they won. They seemed as though they figured life out and everything clicked. They had one more week of practice and playoff game to live for. As for the Hawks, their season was done
