Why Beowulf Is An Epic Hero?

The purpose of this essay is to explain why Beowulf is an epic hero. First, I will provide some background information on Beowulf. Beowulf is a hero that is described to be mighty, in an epic poem that is named after him. Beowulf heads from his home in Geetland to Denmark to fight a monster that is terrorizing Herot Mead Hall. This monster, named Grendel, is described as a “Powerful monster, living down in the darkness”. Then, Beowulf’s men camp overnight in the Herot Hall with hopes of slaying this terrible beast. Late that night, as Beowulf and his men are awaiting the monster, he finally arrives. Beowulf, the mighty ruler that came to free the people of Herot, then prepares to engage in battle bearing nothing but his God-given hands. During
