Why Become A Veterinarian

Improved Essays
I want to be a Veterinarian when I grow up. I will have to go through 4 years of school to get my bachelor's degree, and four years of Vet school. In all, I have to go to school for 8-10 years of college. I want to stay close to home and I figured out that UGA is a good school to become a veterinarian. I love animals so much I have had four dogs, one fish, and a turtle named Squirt. My Aunt & Uncle have a rottweiler who got diabetes two years ago. It was one of the worst days of my life. I found out about three months ago he was going blind. I cried for almost two hours. I hated the day. He was an amazing puppy and such a good guard dog. I have been with animals my whole life. This is one of the reasons that I love animals so much.

Once I was old enough to begin working on the farm I started taking care of the horses brushing, feeding, taking care of wounds and helping the younger riders learn how to care for their horses. I’ve never been able to own my own horse, but I have been fortunate enough to show and ride other people’s horses. I am entering the fall 2018 semester as an animal science with a pre vet track. There is no real way of measuring success. Success can change from person and person, even day to day to some people. One person can think that moving from the streets into a homeless shelter is success, while another thinks finding a cure for cancer is success. Looking back in 30 years, I will have a family, have a good job, and in the end, be happy, to be considered successful in my eyes. Although all these things seem easy, it goes much deeper than just words can explain.…
