Another reason I want to be a co-chair so I can enhance my leadership qualities, so in the future when I have the opportunity to be a leader, I will have had the co-chair to prove that I was a great leader. My most significant leadership experience would be when I was in the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. I had been in the tennis team during my highschool years, for 2 years. During that time I learned a lot about being a leader, such as what it means to lead others, and what qualities a leader should have. When I first started playing tennis I started at the position on 2nd doubles, to me I took it as that I was not good enough to play against an opponent by myself on the court. Which was entirely true, because when I began playing I was not any good whatsoever.…

I would love to be a member of the senior planning team because the senior planning team helps promote change within the school. I believe, along with many other leadership teams at Alpena High School, the senior planning team is empowered by the staff, administration, and other seniors to make important decisions that powerfully impact the school and senior class. Without the senior planning team, many decisions would be left to the staff/administration to decide and, while this is still an excellent way to accomplish tasks, it removes the student involvement in the school. I am so grateful to have a school that values student input because it teaches its students how to take responsibility for their learning environment. As a member of the…
