Sports are extremely time consuming and require dedication and hard work. Baseball has played a critical role in my life ever since I could walk. The older I got, the more baseball has become competitive to me. Baseball is more than just a game to me, it is more like a lifestyle. Day-in and day-out, I work on my hitting stance and pitching form to better my performance on the field. No matter what anyone says, baseball is one of the greatest sports that this country has had the opportunity to partake in. Ever since I could remember, my father and I were playing catch outside. Baseball mentally instills a mentality in you that no one is better that you. In certain cases, confidence can be a bad thing, it all depends on how you let your confidence affect you. In baseball, if you lack confidence, you have already lost the game. If you have the mindset that you are the best out there and nobody can hit a ball that you pitch, it will increase your gameplay drastically. I remember in Little League when my dad would pull me to the side and say “You are the best out there.” Those six words made me play better and encouraged me to be the best on the field. When you know you are the best, you lack error because you want to stay the best. That is why am confident on and off of the field, no matter what the circumstances. Even when I feel like I am the best on the field, there is always room for improvement. A lot of people get success, but lack consistency because they settle. If the world was filled with people that settled for less, there would be no advancements whatsoever in the world. There would never be any inspiration for children and the world would never have developed the way that it did. Real success is when you get success and you are doing everything in your power to keep it. If my dad never helped me to build my confidence, it would be impossible for me to be where I am
