Why Band Kids Are Important

In the United States alone, 18 million people play a musical instrument. However, this is only 4.3% of the entire population in the United States. There should be more people involved in the band program because of the countless benefits that come from playing a musical instrument. Band kids are literally the best. They receive better scores on standardized tests, including the SAT’s and the ACT’s. In addition, being in band improves your reading and comprehension skills, as well as your memory. It lowers your heart rate, which relieves stress. Playing a musical instrument can promote creativity, as well as organizational skills.
