Why Attending College

Ever since I can remember, going to college has not been a choice but rather an obligation. Obtaining a bachelor’s degree has always been a prerequisite to starting the real world for my family. I believe college plays an important impact on anyone’s life and I think every individual should strive to be on a lifetime quest for more knowledge. There are numerous reasons why I am presently in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The first is to unlock opportunities and have a safety net for my future. Ultimately my goal is to own a business and work for myself, but having a college degree provides a backup plan, or safety net. If all else fails, I still have a college diploma and a phenomenal GPA to help land a job. Another reason I chose to attend college is to become more independent. I truly believe that I have learned more outside the classroom than inside it during my college …show more content…
As previously mentioned, I have matured a massive amount since I graduated from high school. My first year of college I was at a small school in Wisconsin playing baseball. I was 17 hours away from home, family, and friends. I was forced to learn how to operate on my own. This was a big step, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. As far as health is concerned, being a four-year college athlete has helped forge a solid routine of daily exercise and healthy nutritional habits. I plan on continuing these healthy habits in the future. I may not always be in the competitive world of college sports, but I have fallen in love with the gym, working out, and improving my body. I have learned how to cook delicious and nutritious foods which will help me stay on track for all my dietary goals. This class has already made an impact on the way I look at health and make decisions. The statistics that have been discussed in class and the lessons have been very beneficial and I look forward to the remainder of the
