Why Athletes Take Steroids
There are many reasons why people take steroids. Professionals, athletes, even students take steroids because they want to improve their health and develop their bodies. On the other hand, some people take steroids for their health or medical reasons.
What are Steroids?
Steroids have many uses. It is made by different manufacturers using different brand names. Steroids can treat and reduced inflammation because of systemic vasculitis (blood vessels are inflamed) and myositis ( a rheumatoid's case where muscles are inflamed). Steroids are also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout or Sjogren’s syndrome.
Steroids are also considered a performance drug because it can increase their strength and stamina, especially when they are performing or playing their game.

Taking steroids can help athletes improve their physique and give their performance a boost. However, it is also important for them to know the negative effects that these drugs can do to their body. Other negative side effects include Baldness, liver abnormalities, and tumors, an increase in bad cholesterol, a decrease of good cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart and circulatory problems, aggressive behavior, psychiatric problems, depression, impotence, prostate glands enlargement and baldness. Furthermore, the regular or frequent taking of steroids or drugs can make the user drug dependent.
