An Atheist Personal Philosophy “Why are you an atheistic?” That is the question I keep receiving when I tell people that I am an atheist, a person who believes in certainty that there is no god or gods. I usually give a logical, rational, and well-thought answer to them. However, it often is time consuming, wasting effort, and even hopeless sometimes. In fact, when people believe in something, they do not always need proof for their belief. They are happy with it and they say it is their “truth” and their “faith”. For me, I always think that a lack of God or Gods does not make the world less significant or remarkable, but full of marvelous wonders and curiosity. Third, the theory of Evolution, which does not have scientific proof, is another logical argument for atheists, who believe in naturalistic worldview, to deny God’s existence. The theory of Evolution somehow has a connection with the Problem of Evil in my opinion. Let’s take a look at the full picture of evolution which has billions years where millions of species evolved and died until they finally evolve to a human being. There are at least 5 mass extinction which kills around 70 to 95 percent of all living species on earth. Why didn’t God, who is an omniscient, omnipotent, and benevolent, create human in the first place instead of making them suffer and died from diseases, famines, predators, and between themselves? Here comes one logically argument, If God exists, then he may be incompetent and cruel because he makes every living species on earth suffer for billions years. I do not have any obligations or any confusion to differentiate the differences between each religion like Christianity, Catholic, and so on. I also believe in equality for humanity in this world as an atheist that all people are born the same regardless of their religions, skin color, nationality or anything else.
