Stereotyping spreads as a wildfire in the United States and other countries proves why we are being discriminated. Thinking in our heads, “Oh, we’re just joking. It doesn’t determine anything,” is an ignorant statement. This will affect people who have low self-esteem physically and mentally. Automatically, people stereotype about others without realizing it and that’s a form of generalization. According to Teen Health, “people have thoughts and beliefs that may or may not accurately reflect on reality.” It’s something that people say towards anything no matter what you’re doing. There are several forms of discrimination, which concludes the amount of pain people receive. Society think black people are the main races to receive sympathy and that other races suffer, too. Agreeing to that opinion, everyone is being discriminated regardless of their skin color. Although, let’s not focus on sides and instead focus on being equal. Stated in Teen Health website, 17 percent of children suffer through obesity. In the media, viewers discussed about having the “perfect body” or “body goals”. Do they perceive that it advertises the wrong message what size is perfect? Then, other viewers will try to shape their bodies. Truthfully, sexual orientation is the largest targets in the world due to homophobia. Teen Health wrote that “about 14.2 percent of hate crimes are reported every year of harassments at work and in public. Also in schools, teachers and counselors should protect their students. About “76 percent districts lack those policies and about 20 percent students skip school once a month.” Prejudice is considered a type of disease by limiting peoples’ self-esteem and confidence. Don’t think judging will solve problems and you’ll get away with it. Instead, accept everybody’s personality, so we can be in peace and connect to one
