Why Are Teen Drivers Important

Would you want to die or have a life threatening injury? Lots of teens die or are seriously injured in a car crash of some sort. The amount of teens involved in crashes, the lack of knowledge and, careless teen minds, are all things that I am going to use to support the fact that 2.35 million people per year in the United States die per year in car crashes and about one-fifty fourth of that is caused by teen drivers. Drivers under the age of 18 were involved in about 516 crashes per year in the state of Florida alone. 106 of those teens involved in the crashes were just passengers of the drivers. Throughout the entire nation about 6,500 teens are involved in crashes on average every year. More than 50 percent of those teens had injuries that were either fatal or life threatening. Driving is not a joke and needs to be done with care or you could be one of those 6,500 teens. …show more content…
With school and jobs on their minds they do not have the time to focus on the road while driving causing bad things to happen. If teens are going to drive they need to be A and B students and have a part time job less than ten miles away from their home. But before worrying about driving they need to have all of the things done that need to be done, including homework (paperwork of any kind), all important calls and texts out of the way, and a backup route to the desired location so if a detour is needed you would have an alternate route. If I were 16 I would be the most responsible driver that I could possibly be, and not only worry about my safety but the safety of those around me. So should all new
