Stem cells are significant because of the social controversy and medical opportunities. Stem cells are important to the national community through the medical advancements. Stem cells are controversial because using the cells defines when the life of a person begins.
Investigation The investigation behind stem cells is important because it can improve people’s quality of life and their lifespan. Stem cells are controversial because christians believe that the cell is a life and scientists want to use it for medical advancements. How do stem cells affect the national community?
Comparison Medical and christian views will be compared because stem cells are embryos, but have many medical possibilities. Stem cells are studied for medical and scientific advancements; christians view stem cells as living individuals.

The advances could save and prolong life. On the other hand christians believe the cells are individuals. Christians don’t like the thought of manipulating embryos.
Additionally, in a newsletter Dr. Purdom informs scientists about the christian view on stem cells because the cells can be embryos. Christians believe that embryonic stem cells are living beings,and the religion holds human life as sacred. Christians belief that the stem cells are alive means that using the cells is murder in their eyes; “Therefore, harvesting ESCs (Embryonic Stem Cells) violates God’s commandment not to murder” (Purdom). This starts the entire debate of where a human life begins. Scientists have to be weary while testing the stem cells in order to avoid human rights conflicts. Consequently, scientists are studying different cells to find a compromise. In doing do this, scientists could resolve the human rights issues.
