Improved Essays
In this article, written by David Leonhardt, the issue of pet owners pretending to own service animals when flying on airplanes, is discussed. However, many non-disabled pet owners took advantage of this law, and began to travel with their untrained dogs, disguised as service animals. This is partly because many airlines do not require proof of medical need, in order for a passenger to fly with a service animal. Therefore, by claiming their family pets as service animals, “people could bring an animal on board without putting it in a carry-on bag

According to Peter Fenton, writer and loving pet owner, author of “Vets Are Too Expensive, and it’s Putting Pets at Risk”, veterinarians intend to find out how much profit they can make off of the love owners have for their pets. Fenton argues veterinarians are using the love of pet owners for their own benefit, while leaving those in questionable financial situations without any veterinary care at all. Fenton delivers a convincing argument supported with data and emotional appeals, but his failure to adequately consider opposing facts and credible opinion calls into question not only his conclusion, but the logic of his argument.…

These objections can transfer over to different animals such as: cats. The statistic that (Manjoo) pointed out was that 1000 Americans a day are treated for dog bites; hence, not all dogs are as nice as they are made out to be. Even if the animal’s owner tells you that the dog loves people at any time something could set the dog off (startle them) and cause them to bite a person. The message that (Manjoo) is trying to get across is that dogs should not be welcome in any of the places that they are and not everybody loves dogs. In my opinion (Manjoo) is wanting people to question is it right to let their dogs do whatever they want to and to take…
