After watching Vietnam Nurses with Dana Delany, these eight nurses are heroes. These eight women are heroes because, they volunteered to join the military because they felt they would be needed. Two of these eight nurses are heroes because even when they got back to the United States, some women went back in to continue to help their solider. They saw and done things that were beyond their training abilities and they used themselves as human shields in a heroic act to keep their patients safe. The eight Vietnam nursing are heroes because these eight women are brave for leaving there families and friends to serve in a war that was not the United States’ battle.…
Heroes are people who are above average people who go out of their way to help other people like veterans, men and women who risked their lives so that we could be able to do the things we enjoy in life. Even veterans were around in Ancient Greece. Even Odysseus was a veteran he fought in the trojan war 3000 years ago, and in other times fighting to get back home to his family. A perfect example of a veteran is odysseus from the Odyssey. He travels all around greece on his way from the trojan war.…

Veteran’s Day Essay Many Americans, both men and women, have sacrificed much for our country. We get veterans from various different tragedies and times in the United States. There is a story where it describes the soldiers limitations through everyday but does everything with enthusiasm. The armed forces are true heroic heros. They don't do it for fame or to be thanked everyday for serving. They do it for our freedom and for theirs. Furthermore the Armed Forces are one of my biggest heros I know of because they sign up knowing they could die but are willing to for our…
Veterans Day Writing Why are veterans considered heroes? Well here are a few things that come to mind when I think of that question. I believe that veterans are considered heroes because of their braveness, courage, and boldness. I mean, think about it some of us wouldn’t even go out and serve in whatever branch of the military, but these mighty brave men and women decided to take a stand for freedom and fight for our lives. Even though they might get wounded or even killed they took the time out to risk their lives for us.…
The Importance of a Hero’s Skills in Their Journey The strength of the traditional Greek hero Heracles is widely known and distinct from the skills (riddle-solving, planning, and stealth) of Bilbo Baggins, the protagonist from The Hobbit, who was both a non-traditional and traditional hero. However, these abilities, though they differ, were all significant in overcoming the perils and hurdles that the heroes encountered during their journey. The skills of all types of heroes (traditional, non traditional, or both) can be crucial for overcoming adversaries and obstacles in that hero’s journey.…
During National Correctional Workers’ Week, the Bureau of Prisons pays tribute to our fallen Correctional Officers, who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Every day, we put the safety of the American people above our own, as we all walk through the doors, gates, grills and sally ports. We chose to jeopardize our lives and the lives of our families to complete the Bureau of Prisons mission, to protect society by confining offenders in the controlled environments of prisons and community-based facilities that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, and that provide work and other self-improvement opportunities to assist offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens. We knowingly put ourselves in harm’s way to protect and keep our communities more safe and secure.…

Honoring Our Veteran’s Our nation’s Veterans don’t get enough credit for what they have done. We don't realize the things they have done for our country, and the mental strengths they have. Our soldiers often get overlooked and in my opinion, deserve the most respect.…
“America’s Gift to my Generation” No matter what branch they are in, soldiers deserve all the respect we can possibly give. A few people in my own family have served in the military, like, my brother, my great grandfather, my great uncle, and even I desire to join someday. In my opinion, the best gift we have is that we have valiant soldiers to protect us so that we can have our freedom. To begin with, I believe that our veterans are some of the most courageous people in America.…

Freedom is what our righteous country was built on.…
November 11, 1993 –a date typically dissociated with the remembrance of America’s involvement in Vietnam. On this day, the female Vietnam Veteran memorial was dedicated in honor of unspoken heroes, ones whose experiences are unparalleled to the soldiers who partook in the physical fight and incomprehensible to the public’s mind. These brave women, some married, engaged, or mothers, held the burden of a war with undefined intentions both physically and mentally, during combat and upon returning home. Although they played a role in a new kind of warfare, felt the personal sting of the anti-war movement, and suffered from PTSD much like their male counterparts, there was little research done on the nurses and nearly no recognition granted for nearly twenty years.…
“I think a hero is a person really intent on making this a better place for all people.” –Maya Angelou. A hero is someone who does what’s right, no for the reward, but for the benefit of the positive outcome. Heroes are needed in many situations. A world full of villains and no heroes would be out of control.…
