Why are intelligence tests important in our society? The purpose of these tests are to see how well individuals can process, rearrange or utilize information. Psychologist ties these concepts to our school achievement and our occupational status. How is intelligence defined? Intelligence is defined as a general mental capability that involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience. If you are intelligent are you considered smart as well? Yes, I think that if you are intelligent, then you have to be smart as well because you have to know what to do and how to do it. Your smartness comes in when you have the ability to study and have the knowledge to continue to stay intelligent.

Both nature and nurture have been scientifically known as having a significant impact on intelligence. Genetics and the environment are constantly interacting, so the question of nature and nurture to intelligence will probably never be fully answered. Most people have family genetics that gives them a great advantage in developing their singing intelligence or mathematical intelligence. You may have different genetic potential for excellence in various aspects of life. It does not mean you will develop automatically potentials, it only means you have a possibility for outstanding
