There are several controversial topics in modern USA society, such as illegal immigration, racial diversity, wage gap, lack or overuse of the democracy, and, of course, the problem of guns and gun control. The nation is divided into two groups with completely different view of this issue: half of the citizens believe that it should remain legal to own guns, and that it is a natural right of every US citizen. However, the other part of Americans find it scandalous that random people are allowed to own firearms, and that guns are sold literally in supermarkets. This problem basically continues the previous thesis. Although it is not an everyday thought for every American, but it would be natural to have a permanent fear that one’s life is threatened by the fact that some person from the surrounding environment might have a real opportunity to shoot (Kates and Mauser 650). It is doubtless that even though it is allowed by the law for nearly everyone to own a gun, the person who wants to buy a firearm still needs to fulfill several important criteria, such as no previous criminal record. However, the illegal gun market still exists, so it is not that difficult to find ways to get an access to firearms of someone truly wanted to. Thus, parents who send their children to school every morning cannot be 100% sure that their child would not become a victim of a gun crime (for sure, most of the schools forbade to hold firearms on their territory but there are ways to overcome every law). American laws prohibit smoking on the streets and campuses in some city areas because it is harmful for the smoker’s health and the well-being of those who surround him. However, these same laws do not forbid to own more dangerous things than cigarettes. This way, the law that allows people to own guns violates the nature right for every person to feel safe and protected in their community without owning a dangerous
