No Dress Code Needed Children and teens all around the U.S. get dress coded. A dress code is something they use to make the kids look “better”. If someone doesn't like how someone else looks they are a very judgemental and rude person. Teens are going through puberty and that can be a rough time in their life and clothing is one way to express yourself.
In the summer like weather when people are wearing short sleeves and tanks tops, parents and students are getting reminded about dress codes. Dress codes are more geared towards girls because of boys not being able to control themselves around girls. Not only does this insult boys, but it targets girls. School dress codes should not tie inappropriate boy behavior to anything but the need to develop human respect. Schools should understand that an effective dress code policy explicily includes girls, boys, LGBTQ students, and students of all races and ethnicities. Shorty shorts and form-fitting shirts are pretty much all you can find when it comes to girls clothing. What are we supposed to do dress our girls like boys(Wallace). When summer comes around instead of teaching girls math or literature schools are enforcing arbitrary and sexist rules that teach them to be ashamed of their bodies. A girl was kicked out of prom because her dress was not fingertip length. That beautiful dress cost money and so did going to that prom that is not fair to her that she got kicked out of her prom, when she paid like everyone else to be there. Girls wearing leggings have to wear a baggy shirt that covers their butt. Honestly what is more distracting boys and teachers having to see the occasional glimpse of a girls leg or multiple girls being taken out of class humiliated because they now have to
