Why Are Coaches Important

Coaches have had an incredible impact in my life and have shaped who I am beginning with my first Little League coach and on through my current life as an adult. I was 7 years old when I met my first coach in Little League baseball and he taught me much more than the basics of baseball. Coach Lopez was a good man and a strong father figure not only to his son who was my teammate but to all of us. He taught us about respect and love for the game. He taught us to have confidence and respect for all aspects of the game including opponents and umpires. He set the baseline for my future coaches.
