One reason i feel they are not overpaid is they had earned to be there they had earned to be playing on that field. Also the better you are the more the teams are going to want to pay for you to be on their team. I also know that athletes had injuries that can cost up to $70,000. Like Paul George when he snapped his leg is basketball that costed approximately $65,000 dollars for surgery. One example is Tom Brady he is a 5 time super bowl champ quarterback.…

Have you ever watched football on t.v and wondered if the players on each team should get paid if you do not just set there and think about the time and hard work like training building muscle mass just to play for a professional football team, does it change your mind. I think the coaches and school should continue paying the players to play. One reason that pro football players should get paid is that they start in high school and play football in college then when draft day comes they hope and pray that they were good enough to get selected by the national football league to play for one of the teams. Then they train to build muscle and drop calories to meet the standards that the NFL wants them to meet in order to play. Then the players work on the of the position they play for example a wide receiver may work on foot work and catching, and a running back may work…

With coaches making upwards of $7 million dollars a year and television ratings for its game coverage skyrocketing, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has had its fair share of good times in the 21st century. The association has also had its worst times as well, “the NCAA has never been more vulnerable and on the defensive with regards to it policies and practices, especially its reliance on the age-old characterization of college athletes as “amateurs” who are first and foremost “student-athletes” and the limits its members have collectively imposed on the remuneration these players receive” (Sanderson 115). Plain and simple, the NCAA does not want to dish out money to players to compensate for their play time. The NCAA views the athlete only as that amateur and not as an employee of the association.…

The average salary of a professional NBA player is about 5.15 million dollars. When one takes this massive amount of dough and compares it to the average salary of a middle class citizen, which ranges from 42,000 dollars to 125,000 dollars, one would notice that the NBA player makes substantially more than the average citizen. Professional athletes should have smaller salaries because jobs that save lives get payed way less, ---, and the money they are getting could be used to help the community. When looking at the paychecks of athletes and the paychecks of people in the military or people who are doctors, you would realize, the athlete gets more money. This is completely and utterly absurd.…

From the grueling late night and early morning study sessions trying to cram all the information for the big test the next day, to running around all day all over the campus to get to classes or trying to decide if one should splurge on a pizza for dinner or stick to good old Top Ramen. “People complain that professional athletes get paid too much, but what they don’t understand is that we need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money,” is a quote from Patrick Ewing, a famous NBA star. His quote directly shows that athletes are being paid too much. For example athletes get paid a great deal more than the working class. They also get paid way more than surgeons, who save lives. There are also orphanages who barely make enough money to keep the kids safe.…
