Businesses like Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas sponsor teams and players to advertise their products to bring more money to their business. That by itself, brings a lot of money to them and that player, but that business already makes way more money than that athlete or team alone even if the money that was made for that partnership was split between both the player and that business. Athletes go through interviews, new articles, and just random rumors more than they really want to. They’re even put into more dangerous activities on the daily. Athletic injuries are more likely to happen more than others, and these injuries could ruin their whole career if they’re not careful. Treating these injuries are pretty expensive as well, and since most teams would like a fast recovery, the cost to pay those athletes would rise. These athletes are paid to play a sport that they’re truly passionate about, but also risk being hurt more than they want to be. Most people wouldn’t choose to have that job at an average pay
