Why Are Arguments Important In Testing A Growing Relationship

Improved Essays
Arguments are important in testing a growing relationship. They truly can show aspects of a person that is furrowed into their character. I have had many arguments with my mom which is natural. I am a teen and she's an adult so we think we are right but also we have different levels of experience and wisdom. From all of these quarrels and despite our disagreements, I think I am much more similar. My mother likes to talk a lot about astrology and horoscopes. She honestly doesn't know a crazy amount of information. She doesn't know when Jupiter crosses Neptune, she doesn't know why my stars are not aligned but she does subscribe to a daily horoscope. And because of this, she correlates your personality with your sign. The interesting part is that my mom and I have the same sign, Taurus. Now a Taurus is loyal, trustworthy, yet stubborn, and I can agree that my mom and I are both very stubborn which is most likely the source of most of our shouting …show more content…
Our personalities are squared of each other. I toss out a joke, she amplifies it. We enjoy seeing others happiness. It might be because of our sign but it deep rooted into our personalities. As a kid I would go to my mom’s shop and sit in her big chairs. I thought I was so cool, with my mom as the stylist giving all these commands to her employees and making all these women and men transform into beautiful phoenixes. But as time went on my visits to the shop was a different experience naturally. I shifted from sitting in the chair to the back of the chair. The customers no longer said ‘hi’ to the cute little girl in the big chair, but they said thank you for doing a good job on their braids and maybe dropped a little tip on the way out. I was side to side with my mother. And I realized how much she’s done for these people. What I didn’t know was that Delali Hair Braiding was such an outlet to people to vent about their problems. Because of this, I tend to always have people vent to

After recording my arguments for two days, I found that the purpose of most of my arguments was to try and convince the other person that my ideas were right and the best choice. In total I made six arguments where my purpose was to convince the other party. The six arguments I made are as follows; The best pokemon go team is Mystic and not Valor or Instinct, that 9/11 was not an inside job nor was it done by president Bush, that we need stricter gun control laws, that Trump should not be president, and that the education system for grades 12 and lower should be changed and made to be more practical for life.…

I know I am no expert after reading this book, but I have already picked up on little things my friends and family could improve on in their own relationships. For an example, my brother and his girlfriend, Bobbi. They have been off and on for about six years now and can never seem to figure out what keeps happening to make their relationship fail. I had a conversation with Bobbi this weekend about their relationship and I discovered they are the king and queen of the four horseman. Whenever they argue it is always criticizing the other.…

Boundary Violations The process of creating a true relationship requires setting boundaries. In order to avoid losing ourselves, or because we fear losing or upsetting our loved one, we often over commit to rigid boundaries or fail to have them at all. Which explains why some relationships are in a constant boundary dance that swings between doormat and narcissistic syndromes. The doormat is always accommodating, ever flexible and always nice.…

While reading Stargirl, I have noticed that I am similar to Leo in many different ways. We both are a little too worried about what others think about us. This said, we both try too hard to fit in. Sometimes, this trait influences some of our decisions. Leo obviously likes Stargirl, but doesn’t want anyone to know because he’s worried about what the rest of Mica High is going to think.…

Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

Noone likes having arguments including me and my family. At the beginning, my parent's arguments were usually about big things like finding jobs, passing driving exams, and money. Later on, they started to argue easily. Even the small thing such as which restaurant or which store they should go, as long as they have different opinions then the argument would start. At that time, I understood for them that they had so much stress in life.…

There is nothing like going into a salon, and coming out feeling like a completely different person. Personally, it was something I found therapeutic. As the storms of misfortune found there way to me, and blew me off course, I could always anchor myself and take control by changing something about myself. Whether that be a new hair color, cut, or a beautiful set of acrylic nails. I want to be the person someone comes to, and trusts to make them feel good about themselves.…

The field of occupational therapy is currently lacking skilled therapists to fill potential positions. There are not enough therapists to serve the public, yet the demand for occupational therapy services is on the rise. Occupational therapist Sharon Gutman shares a few of the causes she has experienced throughout her career: “As treatment of people with mental illness transitioned from large inpatient institutions to the community, occupational therapy positions, like many other healthcare positions, were lost” (Gutman 235). This explains why some jobs were lost. Patients are being transferred because of several reasons such as insurance coverage, government policies, or family demand.…

The person I chose to interview for the second assignment was my mother, Casey Pike. I chose to interview my mother because I have witnessed her deceive my father and sometimes have been involved in the lie. Growing up both my parents worked and my family was fortunate enough to not have to worry about financial problems. My senior year of high school my father suddenly lost his job and it affected his way of thinking about money. Since then, he has gotten a new job, but with the fluctuating oil and gas business he has become extremely tight with money despite the fact that we now have the money to spend it more freely.…

    1. Internal validity is how clear the relationship is “among observed behaviors within a particular event” (Regan, 2013, p. 184). On the other hand, external validity is how “portable or generalizable” the inferences of the research are (Regan, 2013, p. 184). These two types of validities can intermingle and fluctuate in relationship to one another.…

The budding relationship between Will and Sean begins with simply a therapist-patient dynamic, but over the course of the film develops into a close friendship. Though their relationship is rather short in comparison to the typical close relationship from a social psychology standpoint, the characteristics of a long-term friendship are still in place. Close friends typically act more modestly about their skills and achievements with one another, and Will displays considerably more humility when conversing with Sean than he does with others. With his past therapists and even his peers, Will does not shy away from boastfully utilizing or talking about his intellect – but with Sean, he is more open to having a genuine conversation and even becoming emotionally vulnerable toward the later stages of their therapy sessions. Will is clearly more open about his feelings with Sean than anybody…

Second, Self-doubt enhances performance. "What many people fail to realize is the fact that doubt, in moderation, performs a healthy function. Doubt is a psychological state that prompts us to take stock of our skills and to work to improve in areas where they might be deficient. Karl Wheatley, a researcher at Cleveland State University, argues that doubt can be beneficial -- at least in the case of schoolteachers. He points to the fact that when teachers experience uncertainty about their performance these feelings spur collaboration with others, foster personal reflection, motivate personal development, and prepare the person to accept change."…

Change Is Great May, 2015 I woke up to my phone alarm shanking my eardrums with annoying AT&T ringtones. One of the concepts Shakespeare explores in Much Ado About Nothing is that of the different natures of relationships. Throughout the play, Shakespeare sets up two distinct pairs of lovers, both exemplifying a different model of relationship. Shakespeare contrasts two ideals of relationships, one of which being a relationship of immediacy based on necessity and a need to fulfill social norms, and the other being a relationship that is based on genuine feelings of love that are cultivated slowly and thoughtfully over time. The conversation between Anthony, Leonato, Beatrice, and Hero in Act Two Scene One, regarding how Hero should respond to her impending proposal, contributes to this exploration of differing types of love by juxtaposing the nature of relationship that Anthony, Leonato, and Hero subscribe to with the differing ideal of relationship that Beatrice favors.…
