Why have a Student Council? The American Student Council Association has been apart of schools for over 30 years. The reason why schools agreed to student council to be apart of their schools is to have a specific group of students be an influence to others by being an example of leadership, confidence, encouragement, loyalty, teamwork, and responsibility. You’d think most schools would jump to have this organization apart of their schools, but you’d be surprised at how many don’t have it or have the group and not give them enough opportunity to be examples in leadership. Student Council is a very valuable and important organization that schools all over the country find necessary for the student body to have. It’s a voice for the voiceless and it gives students an opportunity to stand up and be heard. Most schools have Student body officers and then followed by representatives or class leaders from each grade that come together to figure out ways to make the school better for their fellow classmates while setting an example for others. If schools today did not participate or have access to a student council how much would it affect the students, staff and the community they are in?
